Aaron Rodgers hits bullseye as the Jets quarterback shoots a bow for the first time… amid his team’s search

Aaron Rodgers has tried his hand at archery for the first time, hitting bullseye amid reports of the Jets’ search for a backup quarterback and successor to the 40-year-old, signal-caller.

Rodgers, who hasn’t played since tearing his Achilles just four snaps into his first game in New York, appeared in an Instagram video with archer Cameron Hanes on Monday, with the pair sharing a mutual friend in comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan, according to Sportskeeda.

The one-time Super Bowl champion certainly didn’t disappoint with his aim, as three of his arrows landed in the two most inner rings of an indoor shooting target, which tallies up to 15 points (5 points each).

‘Aaron Rodgers shooting a compound bow for the first time & he’s a natural,’ tweeted Harrison Glaser, of Take Flight Media – a Jets-focused website.

Fans were impressed with Rodgers, also a four-time NFL MVP, on social media, as a user on X pointed out that ‘Man hits targets in everything!’

Former Panthers wide receiver Chris Manno echoed a similar thought, sharing that ‘Rodgers is one of those dudes who’s just good at everything he does.

‘Football golf, apparently bow shooting,’ he added. ‘Everybody knows someone like that.’

‘Impressive…for his first try,’ shared another fan.

However, some were skeptical at claims that this year was the first time that Rodgers practiced his archery skills, as a user on X tweeted: ‘your telling me the dude playing in Green Bay Wisconsin that whole time and never once fired a compound bow?’

Regardless of whether it was Rodgers’ first time at a bow-shooting range, the Jets are said to be considering a wide range of free agents this offseason for their backup QB job next fall, from Russell Wilson, who the Broncos just released, to Ryan Tannehill, Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew, according to ESPN and Sports Illustrated.

Caleb Williams could also end up in New York, with the former USC man projected to be a first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft class. The 22-year-old QB recently shared that Rodgers is his ‘football GOAT.’

This upcoming campaign will be a defining one for Rodgers, Jets head coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas, following a torrid 7-10 record last season, which saw the team miss out on the playoffs for a 13th consecutive time after a 4th place finish in the AFC East.

Ian O’Connor, author of Rodgers’ upcoming bio ‘Out of the Darkness,’ tweeted late last month that the two-time NFL passing touchdowns leader ‘looks pretty jacked in the upper body,’ adding that Rodgers ‘confirmed he got bigger. Looks ready for a fight.’
