Jets’ Aaron Rodgers showed his peak jealousy this weekend, host says

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers aced a hole-in-one but sank his reputation, said WFAN’s morning show hosts on Monday.

While Rodgers’s former team, the Green Bay Packers, was narrowly defeated by the 49ers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday, the four-time quarterback was posting about his golf outing with Jets offensive linemen Chris Glaser, Max Mitchell and Connor McGovern.

In particular, Rodgers posted about sinking a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

This, Boomer Esiason and Greg Giannatti thought, was prime Rodgers one-upping his former team and, in particular, the quarterback that replaced him, Jordan Love.

“It is funny to think that Aaron Rodgers would be that narcissistic to be like ‘You know what, my replacement is in the playoffs keeping with the 49ers, let me put something out there just to reestablish my dominance,’” Giannatti said, via Audacy.

While the accomplishment is impressive, it comes just four months after Rodgers tore his Achilles in the Jets’ opening drive of the season, and the timing of the post has left some, like WFAN host Shaun Morash, dishing conspiracies back at the quarterback.

“Aaron Rodgers claiming he got a hole-in-one on the day Jordan Love was QBing the Packers in the divisional round is hilarious,” said Morash, who jokingly questioned the validity of the shot on X (formerly Twitter). “And some will buy that he did it.”

While Rodgers spent the season recovering from his injury, Love was establishing himself as the next great Packers quarterback. In his first full season as the team’s starting quarterback, Love threw for 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, a 96.1 quarterback rating.
