Investor Tom Brady was in attendance in Manchester City’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham after Birmingham City stumbled to a goalless draw with Rotherham on Saturday.
The NFL icon flew into England to watch Wayne Rooney’s side at St Andrew’s. Neither side could find the back of the net, with Blues winning just once in eight games under Rooney.
Rather than flying back to the United States, Brady has stuck around for a high-profile game in Manchester. City’s social media team shared a picture of Brady arriving at the ground followed by the caption: “While our trophies visit the USA, we’ve got our own visitor from across the pond today!”
Co-owner Brady purchased a stake in the club and attended his first game of the season in August when Blues beat Leeds United 1-0. At the time, he admitted he needed to educate himself more about the “other” football.
“Well, let’s just say, I’ve got a lot to learn,” he said. “But I do know a few things about winning, and I think they might translate pretty well.
“I know success starts with the work put in when the world isn’t watching. I know that a team is nothing without the city that shows up and stands behind it. And most importantly, I know I like being the underdog.”
