(G)I-DLE intentionally copied BLACKPINK

(G)I-DLE’s stage caused controversy because it was too similar to BLACKPINK.

Recently, (G)I-DLE had a stage at Jingle Ball LA. Here, the CUBE girl group delivered a performance including a series of the group’s hits. Appearing in a strong black warrior-style outfit, (G)I-DLE brought a feeling similar to BLACKPINK in terms of appearance. Even though the team has 5 members, it cannot avoid being compared to global girl groups.

Most notably, (G)I-DLE’s Jingle Ball LA stage was also accused of intentionally copying BLACKPINK’s iconic How You Like That intro at Coachella this year. Group leader Soyeon takes on the role of stirring up the group. The sentence “What’s up Jingle Ball, that it’s (G)I-DLE” almost completely repeats Jennie’s intonation, the up and down tone of her voice in the sentence “Let me hear you f***ing scream”. Along with the members’ coordinated movements, (G)I-DLE’s intro was pointed out by netizens that it resembles BLACKPINK up to 80%, which cannot be a coincidence.

BLACKPINK and How You Like That intro

On social media, (G)I-DLE was criticized by many Kpop fans for deliberately copying the performance style of another group. Not to mention, BLACKPINK’s intro at Coachella had a huge spread, becoming a unique color. Jennie’s hashtag #jenchella even went viral around the world at the time of the event because of her uniqueness and charisma every time she rocked the stage. Soyeon received many negative comments for intentionally copying Jennie and orienting the group to BLACKPINK’s image.

The members’ coordinated movements were also criticized for being copied

Jennie’s hashtag #jenchella at the time of Coachella was also viral around the world because of her unique and unique charisma.

Netizen opinion:

– Look like this but say it’s not the same? IDLE almost copies BLACKPINK up to 80%.

– Jennie’s stirring performance is so viral that no one can see it. If you copy it, just do it.

– The more luxurious BLACKPINK is, the more traumatizing this group is.

– It’s not difficult to understand why Soyeon continues to make the group follow the path of another group. Who doesn’t want to be successful like BLACKPINK?

– Not to mention that Soyeon’s voice is similar to Jennie’s, aren’t the members’ movements exactly the same?

– (G)I-DLE, stop copying.
