“So if that first half was four weeks ago I would understand it, but it was unrecognisable to what we have been doing in this international break.”

During his illustrious reign from 1986 to 2013, Rooney’s legendary former Red Devils manager Fergie is credited with popularizing the verbal hairdryer in football.

Roo appears to have a lot of work ahead of him to achieve the same vocal strength and endurance, unless he’s content to continue whispering after wins.
