The Las Vegas GP had put forth multiple challenges to the drivers during the race. The location was cold-laden and the drivers also had to travel a lot back and forth due to the difference in race destinations subsequent to the Las Vegas GP. Now, Max Verstappen has criticized the race’s date for next season
F1 confirmed the 2024 F1 calendar before the ultimate race of the season. The Chinese GP will return to the pinnacle of motorsport for the first time since 2019. However, multiple drivers have talked about the extended distance between the races.
Max Verstappen commented that the arrangement of racing destinations needed rearranging as it was ‘unsustainable’ and claimed that it was ‘odd’. However, the Dutchman did acknowledge the fact that it was not possible to shift the calendar for the next year as it had already been confirmed.
I definitely think for the future – of course for next year it’s not possible – but it’s a little bit odd that we are on the other side of the world basically before getting here. Especially when you’re talking about sustainability.Verstappen said, as reported by racefans.net.
The reigning world champion highlighted the toll that traveling has on the human body and further renounced his claim of the idea of the calendar being unsustainable. Although the drivers dealt with it, it wasn’t great according to Verstappen.
It’s probably not very sustainable, not only for the emissions but also for the human body. Eventually we always deal with it, but I don’t think it’s great.
Max Verstappen exclaimed that the drivers would have a talk with F1 about the calendar
The Dutchman further talked about the changes that F1 brought to the calendar this year for the calendar. However, Verstappen also talked about a more ‘normal’ end to the season because of the abundance of races after the summer break. He also talked about the huge amounts of traveling after the summer break.

Verstappen also commented that F1 could do a better job with placing the Grand Prix in such a way that would have the least negative effect on the drivers and the teams. Hopefully, for the year after the next one, F1 will hold a meeting with drivers to discuss the placement of racing destinations in the calendar.
With the ultimate race pending in the season, Max Verstappen aims to win the race and extend his record of wins in the season. The Dutchman has definitely created history with his dominating performance in the season and etched his name in history as one of the best drivers in Formula 1.
