Reports have claimed that Chelsea are looking to the Premier League to potentially bolster their midfield in January.
According to TalkSPORT, the Blues are monitoring Amadou Onana, with the situation surrounding Everton something elite sides are surely keeping an eye on.
Chelsea have been linked with the addition of Onana before, with them reportedly keen on the £33m signing over the summer.
This was before they completely revolutionised their midfield with a number of additions for both the present and the future.
The club signed Lesley Ugochukwu and kept him in the squad, showing the faith they have in the youngster going forwards.
This was the same fate for Romeo Lavia, although he is actually yet to make his debut for the club after picking up an injury not long after he made the move.
Chelsea considering Onana
However, the marquee signing was Moises Caicedo. The club forked out a record fee for the second successive transfer window to bring him in from Brighton after fierce negotiations.
If they were to bring in Onana too, there would be some who think he would be the best addition of the lot.
It has been claimed that Everton believe he has both the ability and potential to exceed Caicedo, which would mean he is set to reach a top-tier level.
Sides may look at Goodison Park as a potential firesale could take place off the back of their financial misdemeanors.
They were recently docked 10 points by the Premier League, surely putting Cheslea on note for any potential charges they could face for their own issues.
However, up to now it does not seem as if it has had an effect on their transfer plans, with them still linked for a move for an elite striker in January.
