Former NBA Star Lamar Odom Starts Senior Living Business Inspired by His 96-Year-Old Grandma

Former NBA star Lamar Odom is stepping into the senior living business in California, aiming to offer luxurious yet affordable care for seniors. With Odom Senior Care, he is determined to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors as inspired by his 96-year-old grandmother Florence.

The idea came from Odom’s own experience when he faced challenges trying to find a new home for his beloved grandmother who now lives alone in her Bronx apartment where she has been residing for over 70 years. One of the main issues he noticed is that current senior living options are often too expensive for many seniors to afford.

That’s when Odom decided to establish Odom Senior Care, where he plans to offer more accessible and reasonably priced alternatives, according to TMZ. He partnered with Regency Palms Senior Living in Oxnard and Long Beach, seeking to provide seniors with a comfortable and secure living environment.

Already owning two facilities in South California, Odom has big plans for expansion. His ultimate goal is to establish Odom Senior Care in 1,000 communities, providing seniors with pre-negotiated rates. Although it’s an ambitious target, he’s determined to achieve it within a few months.

Moreover, this initiative follows Odom’s successful launch of the Odom Recovery Group, where he helps individuals in their journey to sobriety.
