General Hospital Spoilers: Roger Howarth Confirms GH Exit – Fired Star Thanks Fans for Support

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Roger Howarth (ex-Austin Gatlin-Holt) has confirmed his exit from the ABC soap. After Austin was shot twice and left to bleed out, viewers immediately feared Austin’s time at the show had come to an end.

Now there’s confirmation from Roger Howarth himself that he’s officially done at GH.

In an interview with SOD, Howarth admitted that he got a phone call from Executive Producer Frank Valentini several weeks ago about the decision to kill Austin Gatlin-Holt off.

Howarth’s contract wasn’t renewed, so he took a moment to process that news and chose to focus on gratitude. It’s clear that Howarth had a blast during his many years at GH and has no hard feelings now that he’s gone.

Howarth also had some lovely things to say about the fans in his interview and in a personal message on social media.

“Daytime fans are lovely and amazing and supportive and dedicated and I am deeply grateful to each sparkly one of them,” Howarth said in his goodbye Instagram post.

Howarth also indicated that it was a pleasure working with all the cast and crew, so he wishes them continued success.

It seems like Howarth is already looking forward to his next adventure outside of Port Charles, so he’s staying in good spirits.

“Life is amazing,” Howarth said. “We just don’t Ever know what’s gonna happen. How great!”

Based on Howarth’s comments, there are currently no plans to bring him back as another character. Howarth is talking about his exit from GH overall, so this is a true farewell – at least for now.

Although Howarth previously played Todd Manning and Franco Baldwin before rejoining GH as Austin Gatlin-Holt, the actor is moving on to other projects.

Of course, many fans found Roger Howarth’s updates difficult to hear since he’s become such a beloved member of the cast, but we wish him the best of luck in whatever he does next!

General Hospital spoilers say there’ll be an investigation into what happened to Austin, so Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will take the lead and hope to score some answers.

The rate has been raised and the threshold at which firms must pay has been cut, with ministers adamant it was the only way to prop up public services.
