Messi spent some time celebrating back home in his native Rosario after Argentina’s World Cup triumph in Qatar.

The 35-year-old led his nation to glory and shone at the tournament, scoring seven goals and adding three assists in just seven games.

He returned to PSG and played in their Ligue 1 fixture with Angers on January 11 – scoring once in their 2-0 win.

However, he was left out of the squad for their 7-0 win over sixth tier side Pays de Cassel on Monday in the French Cup.

And the 35-year-old has used the break to recharge by enjoying some time off in the Alps.

During his family’s trip, Messi was pictured looking pensive among stunning surroundings, while he also spent time with just his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo.

Roccuzzo is Messi’s childhood sweetheart, who he met at the age of just five. They have been together for several years and got married in Rosario in 2017.

The forward is expected to be back in action on Sunday when PSG entertain Reims in Ligue 1.

Messi’s deal with the French giants expires at the end of the season – and while it was expected he would extend his stay with PSG – reports broke yesterday that the forward is now considering his future in France and has concerns over signing a new deal.
