“These teeth can only be described as resembling human teeth. But upon closer inspection, you’ll notice they have rows of teeth like a shark but not sharp. Most of them have two to three rows with very strong bite force. Although the bite force cannot cut off a finger, it is enough to make you never dare to go near them again ,” Paul said.

“It’s one of the strangest fish I’ve ever encountered based on appearance alone ,” he added.

Sheephead fish have human-like teeth.

Paul shared that this is not the first time he has caught strange fish with special teeth. This fish with human-like teeth may be a sheepshead, a marine fish with front teeth similar to human teeth. Sheepshead fish use their incisors to crush the shells of their prey. They are actually quite common around the Gulf and Atlantic coasts of the United States

“They use these teeth to break open clam and crab shells. They mainly eat crustaceans, so they need these teeth to break the hard outer shell of their prey,” Paul explains . .

Last year, photos of a fish with human-like features in Malaysia went viral on social networks. The photo shows a fish with teeth and lips that are said to resemble those of a human.

However, a marine animal ecologist claims that the photos on social media appear to be fake.
