Conor McGregor took to Instagram in the early hours of Monday morning to give fans a look at his impressive transformation over the years.

The mixed martial artist, 33, has bulked up significantly since rising to prominence and embarking on an Ultimate Fighting Championship career, winning at featherweight, lightweight and boxing Floyd Mayweather.

It now looks as if he’s set for welterweight after returning to training following his horror leg break last year, with the sportsman taking to social media this week to show how his body has changed.

Return to health: Conor was defeated by Dustin Poirier last January and broke his leg in their rematch (pictured 2015)

Speaking outside of court in Dublin following an arrest for alleged dangerous driving in March, he said he was back in training.

Conor told the Mirror: ‘Straight back into training. I’m looking forward to getting back into the octagon – we’ll see what happens, the leg’s getting better every day, I think 170 is where I’m aiming for, I feel good at this weight.’

He was defeated by Dustin Poirier last January and broke his leg in their rematch.

Conor stumbled back in horrifying fashion after placing his weight down and his left leg buckled from underneath him, with the bout then stopped by doctors at the end of the first round.

Conor has been rehabilitating the injury ever since and now has a metal plate in the limb, taking time out to rest in America.

He stepped up his recovery last week and is finally back sparring as he bids to return to the cage following his gruesome leg break.

The MMA legend is now in the final stages of his recovery and has recently resumed boxing training.

Conor had been reportedly unable to step into the ring or cage with another competitor until receiving medical clearance but that has evidently been given in recent days.
