WWE superstar Grayson Waller threatened to send Cristiano Ronaldo to the mat if he steps in the ring this weekend.
There have been rumours the Manchester United legend, who now plays for Saudi Arabia football team Al Nassr, could be in Riyadh for WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday evening.
Grayson has already taken to X (formerly Twitter) to brand Ronaldo a ‘flop’, and he exclusively told Metro.co.uk what will happen if the sporting megastar turns up.
He warned: ‘All I gotta do is put one hit on him. He’s gonna fall on the ground for about 15 minutes grabbing out his leg like the rest of these fake soccer players do, so I’m not sure he could do anything physical in the ring.
‘But I’m sure if he was in there, he’d have something to say about some of the things I’ve said.’
At the moment, Australian wrestler Grayson’s involvement in Crown Jewel is yet to be clarified, but he teased that ‘anything’ is possible.
‘You never know mate,’ he smiled when asked what he’ll be doing on Saturday evening. ‘I’m here in Saudi, could be anything.’
When it comes to the idea of Ronaldo in WWE, the host of the Grayson Waller Effect – who insisted he’s never ‘watched a Cristiano Ronaldo game’ – isn’t sure he’d be able to hack it in the ring.
‘I don’t watch soccer. You know, I enjoy actual sports, with people with actual talent and things like that,’ he said. ‘I’m sure he’s pretty good. But there’s no way he could cut in the ring.’
Celebrities in WWE are nothing new, with the likes of Bad Bunny making waves in the wrestling world, and Logan Paul is challenging Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship on the show.
‘You can say what you want about him, but he’s tougher than a lot of these athletes,’ Grayson said. ‘I think he’s a pro wrestler at heart. The way he talks, the way he moves, all those type of things, I think he’s in the right field now.’
He even reckons the social media star – who he described as a ‘big boy’ – could dethrone the masked legend to earn his first title in WWE.
Beyond Logan, Bad Bunny and a potential Ronaldo feud, Grayson would also like to see Travis Kelce step up after the Aussie wrestler drew the ire of Swifties when he joked about the NFL star’s romance with Taylor Swift.
‘I can film a 90 second video in my hotel room, and that has more value than some wrestlers having 90 minutes on television every week. Everything I do is for a reason,’ he said of his response to his clash with her fans.
‘A lot of people get very upset at things I say. But that that means it’s working. I’m very good at what I do… So seeing how passionate and diehard people are about that means than I’m saying something that’s getting to them.’
Travis previously revealed he’s open to the idea of stepping in the ring, and Grayson pointed to WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia next April as a potential date.
The rising star is taking things day by day now with Crown Jewel this weekend, Survivor Series later in the month and the Royal Rumble, all before WWE heads Down Under for Elimination Chamber: Perth in February.

‘The main thing I’m focusing on right now is making sure body mind everything I’m ready to go whatever they present me with,’ he said, before hinting he will go above and beyond to delights fans in his homeland.
‘I know the risks that I’ve taken in the past and in certain matches to put on big performances,’ he added. ‘And I’m a bit nervous to think what my limit is when it comes to doing that in front of an Australian crowd and I’m worried that there might not be be a limit to that.’
