Ravens HC John Harbaugh speaks on the Odell Beckham Jr.-Jeffery Simmons postgame fight

The Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans reignited their rivalry in Week 6. The game was quite a physical one filled with hard hits and big plays. In the end, it was the Ravens who had the last laugh with a 24-16 win, but the animosity between the two teams did not come to a halt once the game clock hit double-zero.

According to Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeffery Simmons were involved in a heated altercation after the game.

“Dude, I’m sitting there after the game,” Humphrey said on his “Punch Line Podcast.” “I jersey swapped with a dude, so, like, it took me awhile.

“I saw Jeffery Simmons, and he’s just looking like this [straight-faced]. Helmet on. I’m like, ‘Oh he must got family on our team or something.’ So I’m trying to take off my jersey and pads, I’m thinking he wants to show me love, like he respects my game. So he wasn’t.

“… As my back’s turned to him, our guy goes ‘Rodney, Rodney.’ Roddy’s our security’s name. I’m like, any time you start yelling security, freaking out, I turn around, Odell and Jeffery are like fighting. I’m pretty sure Odell’s grabbing his facemask. They had to get separated and everything. I don’t know how this has not hit the media. He wanted the fade from getting that [penalty] on Odell.”

As Humphrey touched on, Simmons received an unnecessary roughness penalty during the second quarter of the contest. Simmons shoved Beckham to the ground after he was kneed by the veteran wideout. This all came after Beckham appeared to take exception at how the Titans defensive lineman dove at Zay Flowers’ right leg on the rookie’s 4-yard reception.

It was only two plays later that Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson connected with Flowers for a 10-yard touchdown.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was asked about the alleged fight that occurred between Beckham and Simmons. Harbaugh claimed that he had no idea of just what transpired between the two.

“That’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh was also asked if the Ravens reached out to the NFL about Simmons’ dive-first tackle at Flowers’ right leg.

“We sent our plays in,” Harbaugh said. “I’ll probably just leave it at that.”

It remains to be seen whether Simmons will be handed a fine by the NFL for his tackle on the former Boston College standout.
