Usain Bolt Sends Surprise Message to American Gold Medalist Noah Lyles

Usain Bolt has sent a surprising message to American sprinter Noah Lyles after his stunning victory in the 100 meters at the Paris Olympics. Lyles clinched the gold medal with a remarkable time of 9.784 seconds, edging out Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson by a mere 0.005 seconds.

The race was so close that it wasn’t immediately clear who had won until the officials reviewed the photo finish and declared Lyles the winner. This victory marked a significant comeback for American athletics, especially after a disappointing performance in the women’s 100 meters.

Lyles’s triumph reestablished the dominance of U.S. sprinting on the Olympic stage. His victory follows his impressive performance at the 2023 World Championships, where he won gold in the 100 meters with a time of 9.83 seconds and in the 200 meters with a time of 19.52 seconds. He became the first American to win the sprint double at the World Championships since Tyson Gay in 2007.

Additionally, Lyles was part of the U.S. 4×100 meter relay team that won gold at Paris 2024. He is expected to compete in the men’s 200 meters final tonight, with a strong chance of adding another gold to his collection.

After the 100 meters race, Lyles shared a heartfelt story, revealing that his longtime coach Rashawn Jackson had passed away just before the competition. Fighting back tears, Lyles said, “I remember running that last stretch and thinking, ‘This race is for you, coach,’ and I believe he was watching over me. He always believed I would become the fastest man in the world in both the 100 and 200 meters.”

Usain Bolt, the legendary sprinter and former world record holder, sent his congratulations and support to Lyles. Bolt’s message read, “Congrats Noah Lyles! You’ve shown incredible strength and determination. Keep pushing the limits and making history.”

This message from one of the greatest sprinters of all time is a testament to Lyles’s remarkable achievement and the respect he has garnered in the world of athletics.
