Drew’s Pitch For Congressman Leads His Personal Life In A Very Different Direction As Laura Comes Under Fire

General Hospital (GH) spoilers report Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is seriously entertaining the idea of running for office.

Becoming a Congressman would be a great honor in Drew’s eyes. He’s always had a special place in his heart when it comes to ways she can better serve the public.

But his campaign just might dovetail nicely with another person’s bid for a higher seat in the public office stratosphere.

Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has been a favorite of the people of Port Charles. That is, until now.

Her interest in seeing to it that her old friend, Heather Webber (Alley Mills), receives appropriate justice for her crimes — even if it sets her free — is not being well-received by the voter base.

Should Laura’s tenure as Mayor come to an end this year as Drew takes his seat in Congress, we have to wonder whether he’ll be working locally with a new Mayoral candidate in town — current Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).

General Hospital Spoilers — Drew Cain Makes His Move

Drew still isn’t sure whether a life in public office is what he desires. He’s never considered running for office and getting involved in politics until it was presented to him as an easier win than most. Having the endorsement of the current beloved candidate who will be leaving office is no small potatoes.

With Congressman Larry McConkey’s (Sam McMurray) backing, Drew could soar to new heights as a U.S. Representative, dedicating his life to making the nation a better place to live — and likewise, to making Port Charles a better place to live.

Furthermore, Drew would instantly become a better guy to know. But this is a new space for him, and he probably only has one person he can turn to who knows just how he feels.

GH Spoilers – Tease Jordan Ashford Didn’t See This Coming

Working as a public servant as Police Commissioner was a different game for Jordan. She loved her career behind the badge and served the people of Port Chuck well.

In fact, she has often mentioned missing being on the force, especially in times of need or when she knows the men and women in blue could use some camaraderie.

Her new role as Deputy Mayor came about as a surprise after the former Deputy Mayor, Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur), died. Laura needed to fill the seat next to her quickly, and Jordan was her first pick to plead with.

Still, Jordan never imagined that might lead to becoming Mayor someday when Laura was no longer able to serve the public in the same way.

General Hospital Spoilers — New Territory

Laura may not be expecting the fall that lies ahead, but the more that she pushes for a second jab at justice for Heather, the more the people she serves are going to question her fitness.

While she may not end up impeached from office, it’s unlikely that this move will score her another term in office.

Rather, it may be time for her to step down and let Jordan take over for her. This could lead to a lot more face time between Drew and Jordan as they both work toward political goals that will improve their charmed city.

Will that time in the office lead to time together in other unforeseen spaces — like the bedroom? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
