Conor McGregor enjoys Saudi Arabia trip, hints at boxing comeback

Conor McGregor, the former UFC champion and MMA superstar, has been having a good time in Saudi Arabia, where he witnessed the historic crossover fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou on October 28. McGregor posted a photo of himself on Twitter, wearing a white outfit and a gold chain necklace, and looking confident and stylish. He captioned it with “The Notorious in Saudi Arabia”, referring to his nickname and his presence in the Middle Eastern country.

McGregor was not the only celebrity who attended the fight, which saw Fury retain his WBC and Ring magazine titles by defeating Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, by a close decision. Other stars who were present at the event included Cristiano Ronaldo, Israel Adesanya, Manny Pacquiao, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many more.

McGregor has been teasing a possible return to boxing, as he shared another photo of his fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017, which he lost by a 10th-round TKO. McGregor wrote “I just want to box” and tagged the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, which partnered with the UFC to host the first Fight Night event in Saudi Arabia on March 2, 2024.

McGregor has expressed his interest in fighting in Saudi Arabia in the future, saying that he is honored by the invitation from the authority. He also said that he is open to making his comeback to the UFC in Saudi Arabia, as he is recovering from a leg injury that he suffered in his last fight against Dustin Poirier in July45.

McGregor has also been involved in a verbal feud with Pacquiao, who was also at the Fury vs. Ngannou fight. McGregor threatened to kick Pacquiao in the head if they met at the event, while Pacquiao dismissed McGregor as inactive and irrelevant. McGregor and Pacquiao were rumored to fight in 2021, but the negotiations fell through.

Could McGregor be planning to headline a boxing event in Saudi Arabia? Who would you like to see him fight? Let us know what you think in the comments.
