Young woman who gave birth to a son at junior high school receives over $1 million in scholarships to American universities as the best graduating student.
Lamyrical Harris, a remarkable young lady, has made history as the first-ever graduate of Tennessee’s Trezevant High School to receive a $1 million college scholarship.
Lamyrical Harris gave birth to a boy while she was a junior in high school, and despite having to care for her newborn, she graduated as the school’s valedictorian.
Her outstanding academic achievements led to her acceptance into more than 24 universities around the country, earning her $1,244,298 in scholarships. She described how having her son gave her more motivation to work harder.
“I was terrified. She told the news station, “I just had to work ten times harder because of that.
Her son’s birth motivated her to work 10 times harder in high school, and by the time she returned to the junior class at the end of the first academic year, she had amassed $200,000 in scholarships.
Harris continued by saying that at the beginning of her senior year, she had amassed a staggering $500,000 and that, by graduation, she had crossed the $1 million milestone.
Lamyrical Harris became the first Trezevant High School graduate to receive more than one million dollars in scholarships when she received $1,244,298 in honors.
The school posted on Facebook to celebrate her accomplishment and to congratulate her and her son on their outstanding success. The school declared, “We have our first MILLION DOLLAR SCHOLAR in Trezevant history.
Lamyrical Harris, our valedictorian, is the first student in school history to receive this honor. She has been offered a total of $1,244,298 in academic scholarships. She is the first to get this sum exclusively through academic scholarships, despite the fact that Trezevant has had some exceptional athletes throughout its history, the post stated.
“The class of 2019 is still breaking records and leaving a lasting impression on THS. Congrats, Lamyrical,” the institution continued.
