Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone goofing off on the red carpet is everything we needed today
Ask any pair of close friends and they’ll tell you that photobombing is just what you do when a solid opportunity arises. And Jennifer Lawrence apparently knows this all too well. At November 11th’s Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 9th Annual Governors Awards, Lawrence photobombed friend Emma Stone on the red carpet and the photos are exactly what we needed to kick off the week.
According to Vanity Fair’s Holiday 2016 cover story, Lawrence and Stone became friends through mutual costar, Woody Harrelson. After working with both actresses — Lawrence in The Hunger Games and Stone in Zombieland — Harrison was sure the two would hit it off, and he gave Stone Lawrence’s phone number.
“She texted me that she got my number from Woody,” Lawrence told Vanity Fair. “I replied, ‘Fuck off!’ And we’ve been really good friends ever since.”
After connecting via text, Lawrence and Stone texted every day for a year. In the same Vanity Fair piece, Lawrence likened their friendship to a Millennial version of The Notebook. She also told the magazine that if she wasn’t Stone’s biggest fan, “I would’ve Tonya Harding’d her in the kneecaps,” for her role in La La Land. LOL.
And here they are, mugging it up for the camera/

Stone admitted she was just as tense about potentially competing with Lawrence. In an email to Vanity Fair, Stone wrote,
“There was definitely a time early on when I was like OH HEY MY EGO IS GOING NUTS SHE’S SO GREAT AND VIBRANT AND TALENTED I’M SCREWED I’LL NEVER WORK AGAIN GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD.’ Then I chilled the fuck out — and remembered we’re completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it’s an industry that doesn’t really seem to support that idea up front.”
