Ava May Have Competition Soon If Natalia Keeps Drawing Closer To Sonny

General Hospital (GH) spoilers report Ava Jerome (Maura West) was flying high living the life with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

When he welcomed her into his penthouse home as a means of protecting her and Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola), she thought nothing of it at the time.

She kept her head down and tried to stay out of his way — even when she was a guest and besties with his then-wife.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nina Reeves Corinthos Made Her Exit

When Nina Reeves Corinthos’ (Cynthia Watros) made her exit and left Ava to fend for herself with Sonny, she wasted no time sinking her teeth into his misery and helping him numb the pain every night with a glass or two of booze — an element she knew wasn’t going to work in his best interest but would in her own.

Discovering that his medication had been tampered with was the icing on the cake for Ava.

She thought she had stumbled upon a recipe for success that would leave her as the next Mrs. Corinthos. What she didn’t expect was that Sonny was looking to fill that position from outside of his home.

GH Spoilers — Everyone Was Out Of The Way

Ava’s biggest mistake was assuming that all she had to do was encourage and embrace everyone else in Sonny’s life falling by the wayside.

Every time Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) showed up to fight with Sonny, she would fan the flames in the most subtle of ways to keep him fired up and ready to push Carly out of his orbit.

Every time Sonny spoke of Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) with disdain, Ava agreed with him that what Michael did was a brutal betrayal.

She rarely mentioned Nina’s name, and when she did, it was out of malice to further align herself with Sonny against her.

The plan was working swimmingly for Ava to land herself squarely in Sonny’s corner, with no one else accompanying them there. But she missed one important step — ensuring he didn’t pick up someone new to cling to along the way.

General Hospital Spoilers — Natalia Has Her Own Agenda

It’s clear to see that Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) is also a woman who knows what she wants and will manipulate her way into getting it.

Given the way that she treats her own daughter, Alison ‘Blaze’ Ramirez (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), we have to expect that she won’t end up treating Sonny with any more kindness than she has exhibited with her own child.

To add insult to injury, it’s also clear that Natalia has her eyes on the prize with Sonny. Stroking his ego at every turn, laughing at his jokes, and instantly welcoming herself into his home life was a bit of a surprise.

Many fans were questioning what kind of woman goes for a drink at a man’s penthouse — let alone a man with Sonny’s reputation.

Sure, maybe him being Kristina Corinthos Davis’ (Kate Mansi) father eased any nerves she would have otherwise had, but Natalia was loving every minute of pushing Ava to the side on her own stomping grounds.

GH Spoilers — Batter Up

Ava might have thought she was about to close out the game with Sonny soon. Getting Nina out of the way was the heaviest lift, and fortunately for Ava, Nina did most of that legwork herself.

Removing Carly from Sonny’s mind won’t be as easy, but keeping him angry with her is a piece of cake.

However, Ava will have to tackle the new burden of painting Natalia as all wrong for Sonny — and rumor has it he’s not going to take what Ava tries to spoon feed him.

How will Ava manage to up her game when Sonny is running around telling other women, “It’s not like that with Ava and me”? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
