The Boys Season 4’s Shocking Link to Gen V Exposed: Prepare for an Epic and Unforgettable Revelation!

Season 4 of The Boys will introduce new supes in The Seven and delve into the connections to the Gen V offshoot program, including the supe-killing virus.

The Boys’ Season 4 trailer, which was released on December 2, 2023, received over 7 million views in 24 hours, demonstrating how enthusiastic fans were to return to this devilish realm of superheros. With a debut date of 2024, there is plenty of time to discuss what to expect, such as the new superheroes in The Seven and the plot’s ties to the second spinoff show, Gen V.

The Boys Season 4 teaser trailer teases various storylines, including Homelander’s trial, the presidential election, and a civil war between Starlight and Homelander fans. Aside from Homelander, one of the main draws of the teaser is Victoria Neumann’s advancement to the Vice Presidency, which is bad news for everyone because she obtained the super-killing virus in Generation V. However, given the relationship between both Prime Video shows, the virus isn’t the only Gen V plot component that will have an impact on The Boys Season 4 plot.

From what’s been teased in The Boys Season 4 trailer, Gen V sets up several storylines that fans will be excited to see. On The Boys‘ official Twitter account, it was announced that The Boys Season 4’s events take place almost a month after the events of Gen V Season 1. In Gen V‘s season finale, Dean Shetty dies, Homelander comes to Godolkin’s rescue, and Marie, Jordan, Andre, and Emma are used as scapegoats for the chaos and death at the university. One of the main implications this episode had for the upcoming season of The Boys is Butcher finding out about the Woods facility or what’s left of it.

It’s no secret that Butcher wants most of the supes dead, especially Homelander. So, Butcher finding out about the virus created at The Woods in Gen V’s post-credit scene could be the secret weapon he needs to eliminate Homelander and The Seven. In Gen V, after Mallory speaks to Dean Shetty, she calls someone and tells them to tail Dean Shetty, which could be how he ends up finding out about the woods. Jeffrey Dean Morgan also makes his debut in this trailer. Although little is known about his character, he does seem to be a friend to Butcher and The Boys. The Boys Season 4 trailer also reveals that Victoria Neuman will likely win the elections and become vice president — a position that could give her more power than Homelander and Vought. In Gen V, Neuman kills the Doctor who created the virus and drives away, and with Neuman being a supe herself, it’s a mystery what she will do with that virus. She could use it to kill a few supes or repurpose it for her agenda in The Boys Season 4.

Another connection between The Boys Season 4 and Gen V is Homelander’s upcoming trial. In Gen V, a news bulletin reveals he is facing the consequences of killing a Starlight fan. In The Boys Season 4 trailer, a fight erupts between Homelander and Starlight fans outside the New York County courthouse. Things seem to be getting worse for Vought, which implies that Homelander’s trial will be full of fights and more death. The voiceover in the trailer for The Boys Season 4 also indicates that Homelander plans to rule the United States, referencing Cesar and Rome.He could be eyeing the presidency, making Neuman an enemy because she would be next in line if anything happened to the president. Homelander going against Neuman could be fatal, considering she has access to the supe virus that could defeat Homelander after Soldier Boy failed. Although the supe virus may not effectively kill Homelander, it could still harm him.

Gen V Characters Who Could Appear in The Boys Season 4

Marie is probably one of the many Gen V characters who will appear in The Boys Season 4. In Gen V, viewers realize Neuman has a deeper connection with Marie. Neuman is the one who sponsored Marie to get into Godolkin and helped her along the way. They both went to the Red River Institute and can control blood. While Marie is still learning about the extent of her power, she proves in the Gen V finale that she is more powerful than she knows. Now that Vought has captured Marie and her friends, Neuman could use her newfound power to help release them. Butcher could also be the one to save them because these students know more about the virus than anyone else. Butcher has been known to do the right things for the wrong reasons, so working with supes isn’t beyond him. The student’s history with Dean Shetty could also be helpful to Butcher and The Boys. Of all the Gen V characters, Marie is the most likely to make a cameo in The Boys, but she isn’t the only one.

Some characters from the Boys comics, like Tek Knight, have already appeared in Gen V, and he’s already been confirmed to appear in The Boys Season 4. In The Boys Season 4 trailer, there is a scene where Andre’s father, Polarity’s poster, appears on the wall at an old video game store. The paper seems torn, hinting at what a great hero he was in the past. If Polarity’s situation worsens, his fate in The Boys or whether Andre will take over his responsibilities at Godolkin or in the general Vought machine could be mentioned. One significant plot detail in The Boys‘ Season 3 was the devastating death of Black Noir. While viewers get a detailed look at Noir’s tragic past and the horror he went through before his death, the trailer for The Boys Season 4 reveals that Black Noir isn’t dead. However, fans saw Homelander brutally kill Black Noir, so there had to be someone else wearing the Black Noir costume.

That’s where Sam comes in. Sam chose to side with Cate when destroying Godolkin. With the events of the finale, these two traitors were named the heroes of the day, reportedly having helped Homelander stop the killing at their university. Vought’s CEO Ashley promised the students who killed Cate and Sam would get a chance to join The Seven, but fans know that Homelander makes the critical decisions at Vought. So, it isn’t a far reach if he decides to reward Sam with a position in The Seven as Black Noir. Sam and Black Noir are very similar, so he could be the perfect choice without raising too much suspicion. Both Sam and Black Noir have super strength and have hallucinations to help them cope with their reality. Although Black Noir is a clone of Homelander in the comic book series, the TV series could take a different approach to tie more of Gen V‘s characters into The Boys‘ storyline.

Gen V Season 1 Sets Up The Boys Season 4

Gen V ties directly into The Boys Season 4’s storyline. The supe virus, the Godolkin incident, and Victoria Neuman’s connection with Marie will impact the events in The Boys. While Starlight and Maeve quit and Black Noir seems dead, there is room for a new hero in The Seven. The Boys Season 4 trailer, however, reveals a new Black Noir who could have been resurrected using Compound B or replaced by a Godolkin student like Sam. Homelander will likely use events like the massacre at Godolkin University to start the war between humanity and superheroes in his mission to become the ruler of the world. While The Boys might not like it, they could be forced to use supes like Marie and her friends to stand a chance against The Seven and other supes under Vought’s command.

Homelander’s plan to go full God emperor in The Boys Season 4 is the worst scenario for The Boys and every human on Earth. He wants to turn democracy in the United States into an empire with him as an emperor, and with the glimpses of his leadership style in The Boys‘ earlier seasons, everybody should be afraid. With Marie and Homelander’s interaction at the end of Gen V, she is The Boys‘ best bet to help with the war to come. So, the Guardians of Godolkin are probably too important to stay locked up for too long. The Boys Season 4 will also lead into Gen V Season 2, which has already been greenlit, so fans should expect to see more connections between these two shows in the future.
