The late Carrie Fisher considered her virginity a ‘burden’ so she asked her childhood pal Griffin Dunne to deflower her when they were teenagers in London in the early 1970s.
‘I was doing her a favor,’ the 68-year-old This Is Us alum recalled to Page Six on Saturday.
‘She had a boyfriend and she didn’t want him to know she was a virgin and she trusted me and gave me the honor.’
But it wasn’t clinical for Carrie and Griffin – who went on to share an apartment in Manhattan’s Hotel Des Artistes – as he said: ‘No, we were into it. We had a few practice sessions. Look at her, she was gorgeous! I couldn’t have been luckier. [I was] hardly Casanova, but I was a tad more experienced.’
Dunne remained pals with Fisher until her death, at age 60, in 2016 from sleep apnea (and cocaine in her system) due to their ‘core group of friends’ who remain in touch via group chat.

‘[We share] an irreverent filthy story [about her] or the funniest, most unpublishable things you can imagine,’ the Emmy-nominated actor dished.
The Star Wars icon and NY Times bestseller was married to 12-time Grammy winner Paul Simon from 1977-1983, and she’s survived by her daughter Billie Lourd with CAA co-chairman Bryan Lourd.
Griffin (born Thomas) wrote about Carrie as well as the time Sean Connery saved him from drowning at age 9 and other remarkable stories in his 400-page memoir The Friday Afternoon Club, which hits shelves June 11.
At age 13, Dunne’s mother brought him to his famous aunt Joan Didion’s Los Angeles home for a party in honor of Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, which was attended by Janis Joplin.
‘Janis arrived so late that Mom took me home before I could meet her. I’m only now just getting over it,’ the Oscar-nominated producer lamented.
Griffin later produced and directed the late author’s critically-acclaimed 2017 Netflix documentary, Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold.
The $39.99 ‘family story’ will also detail the gruesome murder and subsequent trial of Dunne’s 22-year-old sister Dominique, which marked the beginning of their father Dominick Dunne’s career as a crime reporter for Vanity Fair.
The Independent Spirit Award winner kicks off his book tour June 12 at the Rare Book Room at The Strand in his native New York City followed by a reading June 15 at Oblong Books in Rhinebeck, NY.

The Billions guest star currently guest stars as The New York Sentinel editor Bruce Turner in Amy Chozick and Julie Plec’s 10-episode political drama The Girls on the Bus, which airs Thursdays on Max.
The dismally-reviewed feminist show – based on Chozick’s 2018 memoir Chasing Hillary – also features Melissa Benoist, Carla Gugino, Scott Foley, Mark Consuelos, and Joanna Gleason.
Griffin fathered 34-year-old daughter Hannah Dunne – with whom he co-starred in Junction – from his six-year marriage to ex-wife #2 Carey Lowell, which ended in 1995.
Dunne wed his third wife – Australian stylist Anna Bingemann – in 2009, and his first marriage to Kate Forte was annulled in 1974.
