The show is set at a struggling school in the Philadelphia area and Brunson said Cooper being from the area made it simple to explain why he was there.

‘Since he’s a local, it was easy to imagine he was visiting his favorite deli. Besides that, he was lovely on set,’ she said of his cameo.
