While the pug is often treated as a wrinkly cuddly pet with an adorable flat face, a photographer has found a new – more gangster – outlet for these pooches that showcases their undeniable attitude.
Web designer and photographer Adam Jackman-Moore, from Perth, set up a unique photo shoot that snapped several pugs dressed up as 80s and 90s hip-hop rappers, including ‘Notorious P.U.G,’ ‘2-Pug’ and Ice Pug.
The mobster mutts don snapback caps, gangster-styleΒ bandannas, luscious wigs and some serious bling as they pose with hysterical facial expressions.
‘The idea came about after our first shoot with a pug – this guy had character in spades and was such a little dude,’ Mr Jackman-Moore from the Dog Photographers said.
‘We started talking about pug life and how cool it would be to dress them up as little furry homeboys.’
While the photography group had never dressed up dogs for a shoot before – especially as rap idols – their aim was to to move away from heavily posed shoots.
While the pooches’ vibrant expressions are the highlight of the snaps, Mr Jackman-Moore said they were never forced to do anything they were not comfortable with, but were often left in a food coma from all the treats they were rewarded with.
Dog Photographers have come up with a new and unique way to photograph the lovable pug – dressed up as famous hip-hop icons and gangster rappers – such as Mike D from The Beastie Boys (pictured)
