Neymar slammed by Al-Hilal fans for showing up back to training with clear overweight

Fans are even telling him he should retire from playing football altogether

It has been four months since Neymar sufferd an ACL injury for Al-Hilal, the Arab club that signed him at around the same time Al Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo. The general idea was for Neymar to be as effective in Saudi Arabia as he has been for all the clubs in which he played. Stats-wise, Neymar has always consistently delivered greatnumbers when he is not injured. But only a few months into his new adventure, those injuries (Neymar’s cryptonite) returned. During the four months he’s been recovering, Neymartook some time for himself and tried to enjoy life while he wasn’t playing. On Friday, Neymar finally came back to practice alongside his Al-Hilal teammates but his images unleashed an onslaught of reactions from social mediia.

The cameras that caught him from a specific angle, did get a side of Neymar where he looks more overweight than he actually is. Although he is definitely not at his ideal weight, other camera angles show he is not that overweight. The internet is ruthless at this point, especially with how fast memes appear in moments like these. Previous to this return to the Al-Hilal installations, Neymar had already responded to the trolling for being overweight. Other pictures have gone viral of the Brazilian showing himself a tad overweight. If this is real, it is not that much weight he needs to lose in order to get back to his ideal shape.

Neymar has struggled with injuries for the better part of his career due to the risky style of football he performs. Every single time, Neymar tries to dribble past defenders instead of associating himself with his teammates. Eventually, that daring style of play was bound to catch up to Neymar if he continued down this path. Should he return to the level of performance we all know he can deliver, will Neymar fundamentally change his style of play? This latest trolling should also fire him up to return stronger than before. Knowing how well he prepares, Neymar will be back to his slender shape in no time.
