Tennis legend Serena Williams confirmed that even the greatest of star athletes share the same gym struggles with the masses.
Williams, 42, revealed on Instagram that she pends majority of her workouts taking selfies until she gets the ‘perfect angle.’
‘I spend 50% of my time in the gym taking selfies,’ Williams wrote. ‘Trying to get that perfect angle that makes me looks snatched.’
The 23-time Grand Slam winner posted the caption along with a series of mirror selfies in one of the said workouts.
‘Well I found that angle so don’t look at me sideways when in person I’m a tad thicccker lol,’ she added with a laughing-crying emoji.

‘I feel that my sister,’ another added. ‘Same here.’
Aside from her 23 Grand Slams in singles, Williams won 14 Grand Slams in doubles and two majors in mixed doubles through her storied 27-year career.
Williams has a total of 73 singles titles on the WTA tour along with three gold medals in doubles and one in singles competitions across three Olympic games.
In September 2022, Williams stepped away from tennis but referred to her hiatus as an ‘evolution’ rather than a retirement.
‘I have never liked the word,’ Williams wrote in an issue of Vogue. ‘It doesn’t feel like a modern word to me.
‘I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people.’

‘Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution,’ she continued. ‘I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me.’
Williams revealed that she decided to take some time off to spend time with her family while she and husband Alexis Ohanian tried to have another baby. Williams, who won the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant, said she did not want to be pregnant while playing again.
‘In the last year, Alexis and I have been trying to have another child, and we recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family,’ Williams wrote then. ‘I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out.’
Williams and Ohanian have since welcomed their second daughter Adira in August. The pair’s firstborn Alexis Olympia was born in September 2017.
