Harry Styles is officially “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!”
Since the musician, actor and hair icon appeared on The X Factor in 2010, he’s spent his life in the public eye, going through several sartorial phases under the world’s watchful gaze. We all remember his preppy boy band days, the Mick Jagger-inspired suiting that marked the beginning of his solo career, and, of course, his fondness for a colorful knit.
With the support of his stylist, Harry Lambert, Styles has become a red carpet and editorial darling over the last several years. His willingness to experiment with color, texture, and proportions—as well as his disregard for gender norms—have propelled him to fashion fame. He’s no stranger to a pearl necklace, a dangly earring, or a handbag, and who can forget his historic Vogue cover?
Styles’s friendship with former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele marked a watershed moment in his fashion career, as he incorporated Michele’s sparkly ’70s flair into his wardrobe, both onstage and off. Whether he’s wearing a shimmery Harlequinade-esque jumpsuit to the Grammys or an impeccably tailored suit with exaggerated lapels to the Venice Film Festival, Michele has fashioned distinct looks prompting the collective consensus, “That’s so Harry Styles.”
