Tom Holland added that he also enjoys watching his prior work with a more critical lens. “I sometimes think I’m my best critic — I really know what it is that I can do, and sometimes I’ll see something and go, ‘Damn, I really could have pushed more there,'” he shared. But even though Holland can look back on his time in the Spidey suit fondly, that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily jumping to make another Spider-Man movie anytime soon. “I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy,” he explained. “So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.”

Holland and Zendaya keep their relationship as private as possible, but the actor did make a rare statement about their romantic status after TMZ asked him about a potential split, spurred by Zendaya unfollowing everyone on Instagram, including Holland. “No, absolutely not,” Holland told the outlet.
