Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, annihilated his competition last year. He operated in a league of his own, and while the sport is currently at a halt, ex-F1 CEO, Bernie Ecclestone, has admitted that Verstappen can win even in a Mercedes or a McLaren.

Max Verstappen has been with Red Bull since 2016, but it is under the current regulations that he has proven too mighty. He won an impressive 19 races during the 2023 F1 season. Ecclestone is very impressed with his exploits.

While talking about the Dutchman recently, the Brit said, as reported by Soymotor:

Max is currently the reference in all fields. You could also put him in a McLaren, and probably in a Ferrari or a Mercedes, and he would still win.

Looking at the reaction, it is quite clear that Bernie Ecclestone has tremendous faith in the abilities of Verstappen. Moreover, alongside Mercedes and McLaren, he has also taken the opportunity to admit that the 26-year-old could also win in F1 with Ferrari.

Would Max Verstappen be able to secure the 2024 F1 world title?

While Bernie Ecclestone has left no stone unturned in showering massive praise on Max Verstappen, the latter will once again be in the limelight during the upcoming campaign. People will flock to get a glimpse of him from Bahrain onwards.

Last year, he was on it from the get-go and really does not give his competitors any chance of catching up. Even his teammate, Sergio Perez, was not able to challenge him despite having the same weaponry underneath him.

However, despite the brilliant job Red Bull has done with its cars under the current regulations, there is a slight possibility of Verstappen and Co. facing some resistance. As per the initial rumors, Mercedes and Ferrari are expected to be in the 2024 title fight.

The above-mentioned teams have been at it in their respective garages and are trying their best to produce a potent car. Considering everything, Max Verstappen might be required to push himself a bit more this year.
