Tom Brady labels Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce ‘BEASTS’ for breaking he and Rob Gronkowski’s playoff touchdown record vs. Bills

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce made history on Sunday at the expense of Tom Brady, but the former Patriots and Bucs passer gladly congratulated them the next day.

Mahomes and Kelce surpassed Brady and Rob Gronkowski for the most postseason touchdowns by a quarterback and receiver duo as the pair twice combined to find the endzone in Kansas City’s 27-24 win over the Bills in the divisional round.

And while Brady and Gronkowski’s record is no more, the 46-year-old clearly has no hard feelings about it as he labeled the Chiefs stars ‘beasts.’

‘BEASTS. When you one up gronk you’re doing something right,’ he wrote on X in response to a graphic recognizing Mahomes and Kelce’s feat.

Mahomes found Kelce wide open on a 22-yard connection in the second quarter to give Kansas City the lead.

But Brady was happy to congratulate Mahomes and Kelce on Monday after Kansas City’s win

And in the third quarter, Mahomes found Kelce on a short pass before the tight end barreled into the endzone from three yards out.

That was the 16th time the Kansas City duo had combined for a postseason touchdown, passing former teammates Brady and Gronkowski in the process.

The pair won three Super Bowls together on the Patriots before adding another ring while on the Bucs. Brady finished his career with seven Super Bowl wins overall.

Kelce, meanwhile, broke his seven-game scoring drought by gathering his 17th and 18th career playoff touchdowns – not far off Jerry Rice’s record of 22 touchdowns in the postseason.

Mahomes completed 17 of 23 passes for 215 yards and the two touchdown passes, while Kelce finished the game with five catches for 75 yards and two scores.

The Chiefs will travel to Baltimore next week for the AFC Championship with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
