Erling Haaland has lumped praise on Jude Bellingham after he scored twice to help Real Madrid come back to defeat Barcelona 2-1 in Saturday’s El Clasico.
Ilkay Gundogan put the hosts up inside six minutes before the England midfielder came up with a moment of magic in the second half, striking a sensational 25-yard shot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen to pull Carlo Ancelotti’s side level.
It was his first ever El Clasico appearance and the 20-year-old was the star of the show, connecting with a cross from Luca Modric in the 92nd minute to seal a dramatic late win and send Los Blancos top of LaLiga.
Many took to social media to lump praise on the Real Madrid midfielder for his magnificent performance, with Manchester City’s Haaland posting a photo on his Instagram showing that he too had been in awe of the midfielder’s stunning goal.
It seems greatness recognises greatness, with the striker posting a picture of the moment Bellingham hit his first shot on his television and Haaland wrote above the picture: ‘Unreal this guy.’
While Haaland hasn’t got off to as quick of a start this season as he did in the previous campaign, the Man City star has impressed, scoring 11 goals in 14 matches in all competitions.
Bellingham meanwhile, has dazzled at Madrid after signing for the LaLiga outfit earlier this summer in a landmark £113million transfer.
Today, he scored in his first El Clasico to register his 13th goal in 13 games across all competitions.
He has been a revelation for Ancelotti’s side this season, notably scoring in all three of their Champions League group stage matches, and three of their last four LaLiga matches.
Both players have been touted as potential stars who could be in the running for the Ballon d’Or next year.
Haaland has also notably scored three goals in his last two matches, ending his long wait for a goal in the Champions League against Young Boys in midweek, while also scoring against Brighton at the weekend.
