Travis Kelce injury status vs. Chargers
ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported Sunday morning that the Chiefs were expected to give Kelce a chance to hit the 1,000-yard mark this season by playing against the Chargers in Week 18. Kelce needed 16 receiving yards Sunday to record his eighth straight season of at least 1,000 receiving yards. However, Kansas City has opted to play it safe and rest Kelce, leaving him with 93 catches for 984 yards on the season.
Kelce has been another steady anchor for the Chiefs this season. While his numbers have dropped some in recent weeks, the tight end notched at least five receptions in three of the last four games. Kelce has two games this season with more than 100 yards receiving, which came in back-to-back weeks in October. He finishes the season with five receiving touchdowns, but he hasn’t scored one since a November game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
