It seems like only yesterday that we were humming the chorus of “One Last Time,” but Ariana Grande is already thinking about her next single. She’s been teasing the lyrics to “Focus” ever since she announced it a few weeks ago. And while we still have to wait until October 30 to hear what the songstress has been working on, she gave fans a little insight on the meaning behind the hotly anticipated track.

On Saturday, she shared a video on YouTube talking about how she came into this world “not only to entertain, but to love.” She continued, “to share, to listen, to improve, to learn, to share music, to share experience, to share feelings, to make people feel happy and empowered, to make people feel like they’re not alone.” Ariana goes on to say that without doing any these, she’d feel empty. Fittingly, then, the song is all about focusing (get it?) on who people really are, rather than judging them by their exterior.
