Kelly Clarkson excitedly helps marry a couple in the middle of her Las Vegas show on New Year’s Eve: ‘That was so wonderful!’

Kelly Clarkson said goodbye to 2023 with a monumental occasion, as the star helped marry a couple during the middle of her Las Vegas show on New Year’s Eve.

The Because Of You songstress, 41 – who has recently showed off her weight loss – was in the midst of a concert for her residency called, Chemistry: An Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson, when she crossed paths with two fans in the audience.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, the star could be seen talking to the duo who revealed that their wedding was set for that night – and at her show.

‘Oh, it is tonight? With me?’ Clarkson could be excitedly asking, just as an officiate began making his way towards the Grammy winner and the couple.

One of the men explained into a microphone which Kelly held in his direction that both he and his partner have been together for nearly 15 years.

The crowd could be heard cheering and applauding from their seats upon hearing the news of the spontaneous nuptials.

Kelly then handed the microphone over to the man who had also joined them and he promptly began to officiate the quick ceremony.

The Breakaway singer could be seen wrapping her arm around one of the men and held a cheerful smile on her face.

Towards the end, the officiate stated, ‘By the power of Kelly Clarkson’s show, Las Vegas New Year’s 2024, I pronounce you both husband and husband!’

She was then seen giving a warm hug to the officiate and took time for a selfie with the newlyweds.

Kelly was given back the microphone and called out to one of their mothers who was also in the audience: ‘Where’s your mama?’

A woman only a few feet away leaned down to take Clarkson’s hand, and the songstress humorously asked, ‘What did your baby just do?’

As she begun making her way back down towards the stage, the star reflected on the special moment that had just occurred and gushed, ‘You guys, that was so wonderful!’

In March 2023, Clarkson announced her 10-night Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood which was held from July through August 2023.

However, the singer added more dates to the residency which kicked off last month in December and will end in February 2024.

During the quick wedding ceremony at her New Year’s Eve concert, Kelly appeared to be in good spirits as she continues to move on following her divorce from talent manager, Brandon Blackstock.

The pair first started dating in 2012 and became engaged later that same year. In 2013, the former couple tied the knot during a romantic ceremony in Tennessee.

Throughout their marriage, Blackstock was her manager and they also welcomed two children: daughter River, nine, and son Remington, seven.

However, in June 2020, Clarkson filed for divorce, citing ‘irreconcilable differences,’ and the divorce was officially finalized in March 2022.

Late last year in 2023, Kelly was notably awarded around $2.6 million from her ex due to Brandon unlawfully procuring deals when he was her manager.

While appearing on Angie Martinez’s IRL podcast last year in March, the singer opened up about the divorce.

‘I think the thing about divorce – especially having it publicized, and people thinking they know the whole thing – the hardest part of that is, like, it wasn’t an overnight decision.’

She also got candid about how the separation has affected her children and stated, ‘I literally ask my kids every night when we’re snuggling up in the bed, “Are you happy? And if you’re not, what could make you happier?”‘

‘A lot of times they’ll be like, “You know, I’m just really sad. I wish Mommy and Daddy were in the same house.” They’re really honest about it. I get it. I’m from a divorced family as well. It sucks.’

And during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2022, she talked about moving on after a divorce.

‘It’s hard. I think it’s the most ridiculous thing sometimes when something doesn’t work out and you’re in a relationship and you’re so deeply in love – and people are like “Oh yeah, why can’t you [move on].”‘

‘I think I might always love that person, I don’t know if it goes away,’ the star also added.

Her latest album, Chemistry, was released in June 2023 and garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album.

During a recent interview with Today, she talked about the album and stated it is ‘super personal.’

‘I mean, I’ve always written from a very personal, like, raw place…I think as well all progress as humans, you mature, and your sound is different and what you have to say is different. It holds different gravity.’

Throughout their marriage, Blackstock was her manager and they also welcomed two children: daughter River, nine, and son Remington, seven; seen with her kids in September 2022 in L.A.

Last month in December, the star also garnered two Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show Host

‘It’s a hard record. It was hard to make,’ she further expressed, but added, ‘I didn’t want it to be a divorce album. I wanted it to be a relationship album.’

Kelly later explained, ‘For the most part it’s sad, but you know, that’s how I work through what’s going on with me, is writing.’

Clarkson has been reaching various milestones, from receiving a Grammy nomination for her latest album and taking part in her Las Vegas residency.

Last month in December, the star also garnered two Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show Host.
