J-Hope was recognized and promoted to sergeant thanks to his excellent military service completion.
The Korean military media platform called The Camp has published photos of J-Hope – a member of the group BTS – performing his military service.
In these photos, J-Hope actively instructs new recruits in basic shooting techniques at the 36th Infantry Division Basic Training Center. Notably, fans recognized that the male idol was wearing a badge. Sergeant insignia and green platoon leader’s shoulder straps on uniform.
According to previous information, the promotion to sergeant was initially scheduled for January 2024. However, thanks to his outstanding achievements in fields such as marksmanship and first aid, J-Hope received the title of “Special Forces”. This title is given to soldiers who surpass a specific level of proficiency, in J-Hope’s case, he was promoted two months ahead of schedule.
Additionally, the platoon leader role is often assigned to soldiers who receive excellent reviews from their peers. Thus, the fact that the BTS member was promoted early and possessed the rank of platoon leader is a testament to his exemplary behavior and proficiency in military skills.
J-Hope began his military service on April 18. Among BTS members, he is the second member to enlist, after “eldest brother” Jin.
