The Kansas City Chiefs have not been playing like themselves for some time now. Having lost 5 in their previous 8 games, a cloud of uncertainty is around them. And now legendary broadcaster, Rob Parker has taken up the mantle to humble the superstar QB Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs’ star QB is going through a rough patch right now. Almost all of his squad mates are on the same ship as well. But glory or setbacks, the QB is at the forefront of that for his team. Amidst all the losing issues, Parker points out Mahomes’ benching status.
A battle of reputation for Patrick Mahomes
The reigning champions were supposed to be through the playoffs by now. But they find themselves struggling due to the losses they have incurred in the last couple of months. However, 59-year-old Parker quashed the beliefs for both sides of the Mahomes debate. “He’s (Mahomes) not getting benched, but he has struggled this year”, said Parker.
With just 26 TDs to Mahomes’ name this year, Parker’s claims cannot be refuted. This is only the second time in Mahomes’ career that he scored less than 30 TDs, the previous being in 2019, when he missed several games due to injury.
Though, understandably, a professional athlete might have a down year, having that slump so close to the end of the regular season is hurtful for everyone involved. But all is not lost as the Chiefs prepare to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. They still have everything to play and strive for.
The Chiefs have to tame this round
The only thing working for the Chiefs is that in their AFC West division, all the teams haven’t had a great season. Hence the Chiefs still have a 95% chance of going through the playoffs. A win against the Bengals would seal the deal for them. But a loss will take away their independence.

A must-win game for Patrick Mahomes and Co. as the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders are hot on their trail. Any chance given will be pounced upon by them. A loss here would mean, they will have to depend on results elsewhere for qualification.
Do you think Patrick Mahomes can overcome his run of bad form?
