Kang the Conqueror is the main villain of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, and these cosplays show how his different variants can conquer the multiverse.
Some Kang the Conqueror cosplays show how the Marvel Cinematic Universe can use its multiverse to the fullest. Jonathan Majors has played multiple Kang variants, such as He Who Remains, Victor Timely, and Rama-Tut, in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga so far. However, that has now come to an end, as Majors was fired by Marvel Studios. While Marvel has confirmed that Majors will not return as Kang and any of his variants in the future, the character’s role in the MCU has been left up in the air, with either recasting or replacing Kang with a villain like Doctor Doom being the two leading possibilities.
As the MCU’s Multiverse Saga projects have done a lot of work to set up Kang the Conqueror as the MCU’s next biggest villain after Thanos, it is unlikely that Marvel will do away with the villain altogether. Marvel’s upcoming movies recasting Kang with multiple actors would be the best choice, as it would allow the character and his variants to play out their story in the Multiverse Saga while also avoiding putting a lot on a single actor’s shoulders. These 10 exciting multiverse cosplays show how different versions of Kang the Conqueror with multiple actors can totally work in the MCU.
10@ugoandcosplay Has Kang Take Ant-Man’s Helmet As A Trophy
Majors’ Kang The Conqueror Debuted In Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
On Instagram, @ugoandcosplay shared a great cosplay where he dons Kang the Conqueror’s armor from the character’s MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The main difference between Kang’s look in the MCU film and that of the Marvel cosplayer is that the suit used by him is sleeveless. However, when Kang fought Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man at the end of the movie, he was also sporting a sleeveless version of the suit due to Hank Pym’s intelligent ants having damaged it, which is likely the inspiration behind the stunningly accurate MCU cosplay.
9@red.cosplayer Packs A Gun And Sword As Kang
Kang The Conqueror Possesses Many Weapons And Equipment
@red.cosplayer brought an interesting Kang the Conqueror to life on Instagram. The cosplayer might not have used exact replicas of the weapons Kang donned in the comics, but throughout the Marvel villain’s history, Kang has been known to favor the use of guns and swords on multiple occasions. While the MCU still has to feature Kang relying on weapons other than his futuristic suit, the Kang the Conqueror cosplay’s weapons could appear in some shape or form through the many different Kang variants that should debut if Marvel sticks with the Council of Kangs.
8@iAMmichaelajih Met The Real MCU Kang The Conqueror As A Variant
MCU Kang Cosplay Meets Jonathan Majors
@iAMmichaelajih went as Kang the Conqueror to the UK premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. There, the cosplayer, who was sporting a more simplified version of the design of the MCU’s Kang armor, met none other than the actor that gave life to the character in the third Ant-Man film, Jonathan Majors. As the cosplayer described it, the “bromance” between the two resulted in a nice moment, as Majors went to the Kang cosplayer and embraced him.
7@ChiefGeekPhotography Gives Life To The Kang Variant Rama-Tut
The Council Of Kangs Has Thousands Of Variants
@chiefgeekphotography shared a striking video on TikTok of himself as one of the many variants from the MCU’s Council of Kangs. The Marvel cosplayer became the Rama-Tut version of the character, which many MCU fans have asked to play a role in a possible Moon Knight season 2, given the Kang variant’s connections to Egypt. The cosplayer looked intimidating as Rama-Tut, with the video helping show how the best path for Marvel to move on from Majors’ firing is to cast several actors as the members of the Council of Kangs, allowing each variant to really feel unique.
6@E1LovesTonyRay Sees He Who Remains Bask In The Light
Disney+’s Loki Was Very Important For Kang’s MCU Role
On Twitter, @E1LovesTonyRay became one of Loki‘s Kang variants, He Who Remains. As the first time that Majors appeared in the MCU as a Kang variant, He Who Remains holds a lot of importance for the Multiverse Saga, with the character’s death being what allowed the multiverse to bloom. The cosplay makes a fun play on He Who Remains’ immense power through the cosplayer basking in the light. Given how He Who Remains has always been a step ahead, a return of the character with a new actor could very much happen in the MCU.
5@gloombeck Predicted Kang The Conqueror’s MCU Debut With An Avengers Team Cosplay
The First Kang Variant Debuted in The MCU In 2021
Majors was officially announced to play Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in December 2020. It so happens that Marvel cosplayer @gloombeck and their cosplay group ended up predicting Kang’s arrival in the MCU a year before it was announced and two before He Who Remains debuted in Loki, as seen in a video they shared again on Twitter. Seeing Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and other Avengers go up against Kang in the cosplay video is exciting, showing how the MCU needs to recast Kang with another actor to allow the character’s full potential to be realized on the big screen
4@iamdavie Becomes Loki Season 2’s Victor Timely
Loki Season 2 Further Explored Kang’s MCU Lore
On Instagram, @iamdavie shared a video of himself as the Kang variant Victor Timely, who debuted in Loki season 2, as well as many other cosplayers who were present at a premiere event for the Disney+ series. The video and the Loki series serve as perfectly good arguments for why Kang and his variants need to continue in the MCU and be recast. The show featured Majors as all its Kang variants; however, several different actors played Loki variants in the series, and the cosplay video shows how having a great range of different versions of the same character can help keep Kang fresh.
3@realprinceofallsaiyans Had His Kang The Conqueror Cosplay Approved By Marvel
The MCU Can Add Scarier Versions Of Kang
On Instagram, @realprinceofallsaiyans shared their unique Kang the Conqueror cosplay, which looked so good that the cosplay was chosen by Marvel as one of the Best Marvel Cosplays from New York Comic-Con 2022. While the cosplay features a mostly standard Kang the Conqueror comic book look, with the same classic costume that inspired Majors’ modernized Kang armor, the key aspect of the cosplay comes from Kang’s lifeless eyes. The look gives the cosplay an eerie feel, and Marvel should take notes from that, introducing horror-inspired Kang variants to the MCU, building on the new Marvel corner set up by Werewolf by Night.
2@juliaofasgard_ Female Kang Variant Defeats The Avengers
Sylvie Could Lead To A Female Kang Variant
On Instagram, @juliaofasgard_ gave life to a female version Kang the Conqueror with an impressive recreation of a shot of Majors’ Kang in his Time Chair from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, the cosplay image took it a step further, with Captain America’s shield, Thor’s Mjolnir, the Infinity Gauntlet, and more trophies added to show how the Kang variant has killed many MCU characters. Loki’s female counterpart, Sylvie, quickly became a fan favorite character. If the MCU were to move forward by recasting Kang, a female variant of the villain like Sylvie could add nice variety to a character that initially only looked like Majors across the entire multiverse.
1@_lg_cosplay Looks Pitch-Perfect With Classic Kang The Conqueror Armor
Kang The Conqueror’s Iconic Look Needs To Return In The MCU
On Instagram, @_lg_cosplay shared a stunning image of himself donning Kang’s classic comic book costume. While Majors might be out as Kang, the cosplay serves to show how the character’s classic look is iconic, and the MCU should bring it back. While Marvel usually gives characters new costumes with each movie, as Kang will have several variants if the MCU decides to keep using the character, having the main Kang the Conqueror continue wearing the armor he had on in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is possible. Having a new actor sport Kang the Conqueror‘s classic look is the best way of replacing the previous version of the villain.
