Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift make list of wealthiest celebrity couples

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce leave after the Buffalo Bills defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-17, on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City Tammy Ljungblad tljungblad@kcstar.com

A viral photo from Sunday’s Chiefs game showed superstar singer Taylor Swift generously tipping people working at Gillette Stadium.

Swift can certainly afford it, as she recently joined the list of the world’s billionaires.

Armed with that bit of knowledge, it should come as little surprise that Swift and her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, are near the top of a recent ranking of the wealthiest celebrity couples.

Fox Business quoted research done by the branding agency Arka, which found Kelce and Swift are third on that list with an estimated net worth of $1.13 billion.

Swift’s net worth is estimated at $1.1 billion, while Kelce’s is $30 million.

Any NFL fan knows Kelce is underpaid, and he is aware of it, too. Kelce isn’t just the best tight end, he’s one of the league’s best receivers.

“My managers and agents love to tell me how underpaid I am,” Kelce told Vanity Fair earlier this year. “Any time I talk about wanting more money, they’re just like, ‘Why don’t you go to the Chiefs and ask them?’”

Kelce said he took note of the massive contract former teammate Tyreek Hill received from the Dolphins and briefly wondered if he should push the issue with the Chiefs.

Instead, he’s happy to be part of a two-time Super Bowl championship team.

“When I saw Tyreek go and get 30 (million) a year, in the back of my head, I was like, man, that’s two to three times what I’m making right now,” Kelce told Vanity Fair. “I’m like, the free market looks like fun until you go somewhere and you don’t win. I love winning. I love the situation I’m in.”

Atop the ranking are musicians Beyoncé and Jay-Z with a net worth estimated to be $3.04 billion.

Another musical couple is No. 2: Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. They have a net worth that is thought to be around $1.425 billion.
