The concert’s cancellation took place just two years after the tragic events of the 2021 Astroworld Festival, during which ten fans were killed as a result of a crowd crush that took place during the rapper’s set.

The incident occurred on the first night of the event, which was held at NRG Park in the performer’s hometown of Houston, Texas.

After Scott took to the stage, hundreds of his fans pushed their way towards his stage, and eight fans died in the crowd crush.

Two more fans, one of whom was only nine years old, passed away from injuries suffered during the incident.

It was later alleged that proper safety measures had not been taken by the festival’s organizers and that the rapper continued to perform after being informed that several concertgoers were in danger.

The performer issued a public apology following the incident, although it was criticized by many of his fans for his perceived lack of remorse.

Scott also lost numerous lucrative partnerships after the event occurred, and he was pulled from the lineup of the 2022 Coachella Music Festival.

However, the hitmaker eventually made a professional comeback, and he has since released collaborations with companies such as Nike and Dior.

Various lawsuits have been launched against the rapper and the Astroworld Festival’s organizer, Live Nation, although two were settled last year.

Scott announced that he would be embarking on the Circus Maximus Tour this past August.
