Dragon Ball’s Saiyan race would be a perfect fit for Marvel’s Wolverine to be a part of, with a new cosplay mashing the two together to epic effect!
Dragon Ball and Marvel Comics are home to what seems like an infinite amount of overpowered heroes and villains that fans can’t get enough of, with a new crossover cosplay turning the X-Men’s Wolverine into a member of the Saiyan race in an armor redesign that merges these two popular fictional worlds into one!
Recently shared on social media via Instagram by @mike_dd3d, this creative talent specializes in making comic-accurate 3D printed designs ranging from full bodysuits to sweet accessory gear to spot-on wearable helmets that have served @mike_dd3d’s passion for cosplaying well.
Dressing in Tony Stark’s all-white Superior Iron Man suit, the Spider-Man and Iron Man collab known as the Iron Spider, a futuristic Batman Beyond look, and even an impressive and wholly unique Batman: Black and White costume, @mike_dd3d excels when challenging himself to create something never before seen in the cosplay community, with this Wolverine x Dragon Ball design perfectly fitting that bill.
Wolverine Gets A Saiyan Makeover in New Marvel x Dragon Ball Cosplay
From being battle-hardened warriors who only get stronger the more they fight to having numerous overpowered and omega-leveled heroes and villains populating their ranks to taking on increasingly more menacing and deadly foes one after another, Dragon Ball’s Saiyan race and the fan-favorite mutants of the X-Men share more similarities than fans might have initially thought. And now, with Wolverine finally being inducted into the Saiyan’s ranks thanks to the professional artistry of @mike_dd3d, Goku can test his strength against Wolverine in a 1v1 battle for all to see!
Using a set of Saiyan armor as a base for this cosplay, it’s made immediately apparent that @mike_dd3d knows what he’s doing when it comes to making the jump to the live-action space, as the dimensions, colors, fit, and all-around manga-accurate design of this Saiyan-exclusive armor impresses on more levels than one. Coincidentally sharing the same yellow and blue color scheme as the armor he already wears, @mike_dd3d completes his Dragon Ball x Marvel costume by donning Logan’s iconic Wolverine helmet and adamantium -laced claws. Bringing this design full circle, @mike_dd3d adds two silver gauntlets for easy snikt-ing action and a set of all-white eyes that put a stylish, comic book-like exclamation point on a design that needs more attention as the idea of bringing to life a mutant Saiyan hybrid with pointy claws and a penchant for calling people “Bub” is a sound one.
Unfortunately, these franchises will probably never collide in an official capacity anytime soon, leaving fans to settle for seeing this mash-up in unique pieces of crossover fanart or inspired cosplay designs while wondering what other Marvel heroes would find success crossing over into Goku’s dimension. Wolverine becoming a part of the Dragon Ball universe is something fans need to take note of, showing that as long as talented cosplayers like @mike_dd3d are around, impossible nerd designs like this one are not only capable of being made on a professional level but are already a reality fans can appreciate.
