Salah’s Milestone Tribute: Liverpool Presents Commemorative Shirt for Striker’s 200th Goal Feat

Mohamed Salah has been gifted a special shirt in recognition of his milestone achievement of 200 goals for Liverpool.

The 31-year-old became only the fifth player in the club’s history to reach the mark with the equalising goal for the Reds in Saturday’s comeback win against Crystal Palace.

Salah was pictured with the other members of Liverpool’s first team squad at the AXA Training Ground on Tuesday, holding a loft a jersey with the No 200 on the back.

Jurgen Klopp had been keen to hail his number 11 after Saturday’s dramatic win, joking that the custom jersey had been an additional part of the travelling party as they readied themselves for Salah to reach the mark.

‘We’ve carried that shirt already for two weeks with us, now finally we could give it to him,’ Klopp said. ‘It was pretty much the best moment to score it, to be 100 percent honest.

Salah also climbed into the top ten of the Premier League’s all-time goalscorers list with 150 goals, level with ex-Reds striker Michael Owen

‘Incredible number for a super special, super-super special player. I don’t know how often he saved us with a goal he scored in the right moment.’

The Egyptian’s feat comes just over six years after moving to Anfield from Roma for £34million having previously played for the likes of Fiorentina, Chelsea and Basel.

Salah’s strike at Selhurst Park also saw him climb into the top ten of the Premier League‘s all-time goalscorers list, level on 150 goals with former Liverpool striker Michael Owen.

The forward reached his double ton in 327 games and he’ll probably need another 327 to catch the Reds’ all-time top scorer Ian Rush.
