She mesmerized the audience on Sunday night at the 2017 American Music Awards in LA’s Microsoft Theater with her passionate, emotive rendition of Wolves.
However, Selena Gomez didn’t quite dazzle everyone watching at home.
Twitter users are already criticizing her for supposedly lip-syncing during the performance.
The 25-year-old celebrity was even called “the biggest fraud in the music industry” by one user. She is unable to even resemble a credible lip sync.
Some were not so understanding, despite the fact that Selena had a kidney transplant only a few months prior.
I adore Selena Gomez, but she made it clear that she lip syncs the entire performance, which is why she spent 99% of it with her head down and her face covered. I saw Aine tweet.
“I don’t understand why she can’t just admit it instead of lip syncing; the girl can’t even sing live.”
One user even tweeted that Pink’s high-wire act was similar to Selena’s, saying that Pink performed live while hanging off a building, whereas Selena performed by lip-syncing. How come these two even reside in the same Realm?
Selena has not yet responded to the claims.
Her Wolves collaboration with Marshmello featured a red Ford Mustang as the focal point of a set that was inspired by a vehicle crash.
As Selena rolled around on the stage and the car’s hood, her ‘cuts’ on her knees and forehead showed off her fierce white mini-nightgown, which hung down so low that her underwear were visible.
For the performance, she also unveiled a new blonde hairstyle.
She wore identical white Puma shoes and socks that stopped just above her ankle to complete the ensemble. She was flanked by dancers dressed like wolves.
On September 14, Selena uploaded a picture of herself and her best friend Francia Raisa holding hands while wearing hospital gowns, revealing that she had received a kidney transplant.
Since then, the stunning woman has also reignited her romance with her intermittent partner Justin Bieber, with whom she has recently been spotted out with. He wasn’t present at the gala.
The Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles hosted the star-studded event, which included some of the most well-known performers in the world. ABC aired the live broadcast of the event.
The public is asked to vote in a poll conducted through the award show’s website to choose the winners.
