Winger Alejandro Garnacho has already thrown his weight of support behind Erik ten Hag amid a decrease in confidence from some players in the Manchester United manager.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Tuesday morning, some members of the squad, as well as some staff members, are losing confidence in the Dutchman over his tactics and signings. United have lost 10 games in all competitions already this season, are on the brink of crashing out of the Champions League and are currently seventh in the Premier League table.
It is understood some staff members and a mounting list of players have concerns about Ten Hag’s methods. United’s performances have regressed this season after a highly successful maiden campaign under the Dutchman’s stewardship last term.
Despite that, Garnacho, who has scored two goals in his last three games for United, has already suggested via social media that he is fully behind his manager and the vision he is trying to implement at Old Trafford. The Argentine, last month, ‘liked’ a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, praising Ten Hag, with the author of said post calling for ‘patience’.

Posted by an account called @EBL2017, which, according to its biography, is an ‘experienced analyst and scout’, the post said: “I call for patience with Erik ten Hag. Manchester United’s tactical display last night [in the 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen] was their *BEST* of the season.
“Don’t let the fact that they went down to 10 men fool you otherwise. They were sensational with 11 men & it was ENTIRELY down to Erik ten Hag!”
The post, which was published the morning after United were beaten in Denmark, has since attracted more than 7,000 ‘likes’, one of which belongs to Garnacho. Though social media activity is not a concrete way gauging a firm understanding of any scenario in any walk of life, the Argentine’s decision to interact with a pro-Ten Hag post does suggest that he is firmly behind the United boss.
Ten Hag and his players have experienced a difficult start to this season, but the United boss did deliver a trophy and a top four finish in his first campaign in charge last season. His main objective was to secure Champions League football and he did that with flying colours.
United, as poor as they were against Newcastle United on Saturday evening, are still within touching distance of the top four spots, currently just five points adrift. It is not a gap that is anywhere close to being impossible to bridge with the amount of games that are left.
