Leaked Details of The Boys Season 4: Homelander Gathers a Legion of Supers, Recruiting Sam and Cate Simultaneously

Gen V has already set up the next two members of The Seven in The Boys season 4, but the new additions would have a lot of implications for Gen V.

Gen V season 1 has finally concluded, with the ending setting up two supes to join The Seven in The Boys season 4. The question of which Godolkin University alumni will join The Seven has been one of the overarching mysteries throughout Gen V, with all kinds of potential candidates attempting to make their way into Vought’s premiere superhero team. While nothing has been confirmed yet, the ending of Gen V season 1 revealed which of the supes are most likely to join the team, with this arc hopefully getting continued in the upcoming story of The Boys season 4.

Gen V is finally here, with the highly-anticipated spin-off of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys releasing the season 1 finale to much acclaim. Gen V takes a new look at the world of The Boys, with the series this time exploring the world of a college for supes known as Godolkin Univeristy. A young blood-bender named Marie Moreau gets the opportunity to attend the prestigious Vought-run university, but upon her arrival, she unearths a massive conspiracy. Gen V season 1, episode 8 sees the mystery of Vought’s the Woods facility come to light, leading to the evolution of some of Godolkin University’s attendees.

Gen V’s Season 1 Ending Teases Cate & Sam Joining The Seven

Gen V season 1’s ending finally teases which Godolkin supes may be joining The Seven in The Boys season 4: Cate and Sam. Cate and Sam take a dark turn in Gen V episode 7, with the duo supporting the murder of Dean Shetty. This act concluded their transformation into supe supremacists, with them plotting to release the supes held in the Woods so that they could unleash terror onto Godolkin University. The duo breaks the young supes out, leading to the mass murder of any humans that they can find. Although this action turns them into the villains of Gen V, it perfectly sets them up for The Seven.

If Cate and Sam actually do join The Seven, it would make the team way stronger. One of the most dangerous threats in The Boys franchise is Cate, as her powers are almost stronger than those of any other supe. Cate has the ability to control minds simply by making physical contact with someone, meaning that she can command any villain to end their own life. Cate also has the ability to trap other supes in her own mind, taking away their powers and killing them. All of these abilities were seen while Cate was on Shetty’s power-numbing medicine, with the finale only giving a taste of her true potential.

Cate & Sam Would Make The Seven Way Stronger

Sam would add a similar level of strength to The Seven, with him being as ruthless of a killer as Homelander. Sam’s powers still remain a bit of a mystery, but his super strength, agility, and durability make him a force to be reckoned with. Sam’s only weakness is his conscience, but as the Gen V finale reveals, he can overcome this barrier by having Cate command him to feel nothing. The effects of the Woods on Sam’s psychological state still need to be unpacked, but it seems like he could be a useful asset to The Seven regardless in The Boys season 4.

If Cate & Sam Join The Seven, Gen V’s Other Supes MUST Join The Boys

Cate and Sam joining The Seven is an exciting possibility, as it means that Gen V‘s other supes must join the Boys. Although the Boys hate supes, they’re always willing to bring a supe on for some assistance, with characters like Kimiko, Starlight, Soldier Boy, and Queen Maeve helping them throughout the show. The assistance of Marie, Andre, Emma, and Jordan would be a huge help to Billy Butcher and the gang, with it not only giving the team more power, but also allowing them to expose one of Vought’s biggest cover-ups. This could make both teams evenly matched for the first time.

While the four Godolkin students would need to join the Boys, their state at the end of Gen V season 1 would make bringing them back in The Boys season 4 quite difficult. The season ends with the friends trapped in a high-security prison, completely unaware of where they are. In order to recruit them, Billy Butcher would have to locate the gang and break them out, and only then can he hope to get their help. However, it is entirely possible that this could happen, as much of The Boys season 3 was about the Boys breaking Soldier Boy out of a high-security prison.

The Biggest Obstacle To Cate & Sam Joining The Seven

While having Cate and Sam join The Seven would be cool, there is one big obstacle to this happening: Gen V season 2. Gen V season 1 sets Cate and Sam up as the main villains of the series, and bringing the duo into The Boys season 4 would risk hurting the spinoff show. If Cate and Sam are part of The Seven, it wouldn’t make sense for them to come back and fight their former friends in season 2. The only way for this to work would be to have Marie and her friends take on The Seven, and they stand no chance against Homelander.
