Federer is an exemplary father who works hard at the house. If he can’t do it, he asks… the coach

In the Wimbldon men’s singles final, Roger Federer defeated Marin Cilic after 3 sets with a score of 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 to win the championship for the 8th time. At the age of 35, FedEx surpassed legends Pete Sampras and William Renshaw, becoming the player with the most championships on the SW19 court.

But Federer wasn’t the only star at SW19 that day. Anyone who watched the match on television could see that in addition to the talent match between Federer and Cilic, the camera lens often pointed to the VIP seats in the stands, where there were 4 children as beautiful as angels. Those are the Federer twins, Charlene Riva and Myla Rose (7 years old), Leo and Lenny, (3 years old).

Two sets of Federer twins

Charlene and Myla wore gentle floral dresses with trendy sandals. Meanwhile, Leo and Lenny look mature in light blue vests and white pants. Sometimes they look intently at the yard. Sometimes, all four children joke around together and have extremely cute gestures.

“The kids don’t know what’s going on. Maybe they think this is such a beautiful place, such a big court,” Federer told a BBC reporter with a smile when asked about his two sons. Meanwhile, the two daughters, at the age of 7, have a better understanding of their father’s work. “They already know a little about the sport. I guess they came here for the finals.”

Being naughty in the stands

Not only is Federer the world’s top tennis star, he is also praised as an exemplary father. The man who holds 19 prestigious Grand Slams once admitted to him that his tennis career comes second: “I want to be a good father, a good husband, then a successful tennis player.” .

People don’t have to “love” me

At the age of 35, Federer is the first male tennis player since Ivan Lendl to still maintain a successful career despite being busy taking care of four children.

In 2014, when he heard that Federer would welcome a second set of twins, there were worries that the family would affect FedEx’s career. However, with his wife Mirka, a former professional tennis player, Federer has managed to balance taking care of his children and his almost full competition schedule each year.

Federer had a headache choosing names for his male twins. One day before Mirka went into labor, he came up with the names Leo and Lenny.

The work is mainly done by Mirka, but Federer does not “stand aside”. “Express Train” admitted: “Bringing your children to tournaments really requires you to have patience and a lot of energy. That’s a challenge you have to overcome because at this age, children are very curious.” active, always running, jumping and mischievous. We fly, move often, change hotels… So, everything is even more difficult.”

Federer’s family has a tradition of twins. Federer’s older sister Diana has twins and his grandmother also has a twin sister.

To reduce the huge workload of taking care of four children, Federer has taken advantage of every possible resource. From grandparents, relatives to members of the training team, everyone was relied on to help him and his wife.

“From the beginning, I determined that there was a lot of work. But people don’t have to love me or worry about me. I have help from my family, from the coaching team. They help me to be free. or so Mirka can take a nap during flights. We have arranged everything well. Now, we are always ready for family tours.”

Even though he’s so busy, Federer doesn’t feel tired at all. For him, seeing his four children is “unmatched” happiness. Even if it is the aura of Wimbledon, the prestigious Grand Slam of world tennis.
