According to the source, Swift and Gomez are “not in a fight” about Gomez’s reported stance, given that they were just seen at dinner together, but Gomez doesn’t want to be part of the conversation around Tayvis. “Selena just doesn’t want to be part of the media frenzy because it’s really chaotic,” the source explained. “It didn’t come from a malicious place, and it’s not that she doesn’t like them together. She’s just concerned about the way it’s being navigated.” The source adds that Gomez isn’t alone in her alleged feelings — they claim Swift’s other close friends the Haim sisters are in the same boat.

There are a few “hmm” moments here, notably that Swift hasn’t been particularly private about her relationships prior to former partner Joe Alwyn; she has frequently been spotted out and about with people she dated.
