Lizzo, a Detroit native, complimented the look with fishnet stockings, and a flesh-toned shirt underneath her denim top that featured tattooed sleeves and midriff.

The Juice singer wore her hair in long crimped pigtails, fastened with metallic silver scrunchies on each side.

Her makeup look was a fun classic shade of red for the lips, and a nice helping of mascara.

To complete the look, the star wore red high-tops and rocked a long, gold manicure.

Lizzo released her third studio album, Cuz I Love You, in April, and the response has been rabidly positive: her singles Juice and Tempo, which features Missy Elliott, have charted well and received extensive radio play.

Curiously, Lizzo’s song Truth Hurts, which appears as a bonus track on her latest album’s deluxe edition, was released as a single all the way back in 2017.

Although Truth Hurts didn’t chart upon its release, the song has become a major viral sleeper hit, being mentioned on the air on news shows and elsewhere thanks to the trending opening lyric, ‘I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m %100 that b—h.’

Truth Hurts is Lizzo’s first entry on the Billboard H๏τ 100, making it into the top 10.

The music video for the song has also amᴀssed more than 86 million views on YouTube.

Although Lizzo did not actually win any VMAs last week at MTV’s event in New Jersey, she was naturally a highlight of the evening, rocking several diverse looks and performing a medley of her hits, including Good As Hell, one of her first major commercial hits from her 2016 EP Coconut Oil.

Rihanna vociferously approved of the performance, which featured a giant inflatable derriere as the main set piece behind the dancers.

She sent a cheeky message to Lizzo, which said that she ‘f—ed the stage like it was my side b—h.’

Aside from her burgeoning music career, Lizzo is about to make her feature film debut as an actress opposite Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B among others in Hustlers, out later this month.
