Summary of Man City stars’ performances on national team: Rodri’s Glory Comeback; Conductor Ruben Dias

It was a busy night overnight as the European Championship qualifiers continued. There were several Manchester City players in action for their countries as the international period began to wrap up.

Jeremy Doku put in a magnificent display for Belgium in their 5-nil win over Azerbaijan. Romelu Lukaku will get the headlines for scoring four goals in the first half but Doku was a constant threat to the Azerbaijan defence. The City winger picked up two assists and his dribbling and constant movement stood out for the entire game. The performance from Doku continued his impressive form of late.

Rodri returned to the starting lineup for Spain in their 3-1 win over Georgia. City’s midfield general missed Spain’s match against Cyprus after feeling some discomfort. But he returned to the starting lineup as Spain secured top spot in Group A with a comfortable win. Rodri got through 86 minutes before being substituted in a positive sign for City ahead of the weekend.

Class is unquestionable for the Man City star when he has 121 Touches, 3 Successful dribbles, 10 Passes into the final third, 12/13 Accurate long balls. Defensively he has 7 Recoveries and 6 Duels won

Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias both started for Portugal in their 2-nil win over Iceland in Lisbon. The win saw Portugal make it 10 wins from 10 Group J games as they qualified with ease for next year’s tournament.

Bernardo Silva got through 62 minutes and set up Portugal’s opener for Bruno Fernandes in the 37th minute. Ruben Dias played the full game in a typically professional display from Dias.

In this match, despite playing as a central-back, Ruben Dias created 3 Big Chances, only less than Bruno Fernandes with 6 Big Chances.

Oscar Bobb started for Norway in their 3-all draw with Scotland. The Norwegians were without Erling Haaland who missed the game due to a foot injury. Bobb put in a promising display before he was substituted in the second half.

The City players will now return to Manchester to begin preparations for the weekend’s clash with Liverpool.
