‘General Hospital’ Actor Evan Ellingson’s Cause Of Death Being Investigated

The death of Evan Ellingson — the former child star who appeared in shows such as General Hospital and CSI: Miami — is being investigated as a possible drug overdose, per TMZ.

According to the outlet, drug paraphernalia was found at his Fontana, California home, where his body was found in his bedroom on Sunday (Nov. 5). Sources shared that the results of his toxicology test, which have yet to come back, will dictate next steps of the investigation.

Ellingson passed away at age 35. His father told TMZ, who broke the news, that he was in a sober-living home, and although he had previously struggled with drug use, had been “doing better” recently. There were reportedly no signs of foul play.

Ellingson began his acting career in 2001 with the TV movie Living in Fear. That same year he made his TV debut with an appearance in General Hospital.

He achieved his final acting credit on CSI: Miami, in which he appeared as Kyle Harmon in 18 episodes of the series over the course of 2007 until 2010, per IMDb.

In terms of film, notable credits of his included acting in Clint Eastwood‘s 2006 Letters From Iwo Jima and playing Jesse Fitzergald, Abigail Breslin‘s older brother, in the 2009 drama My Sister’s Keeper.

Breslin shared an emotional tribute to Ellingson on Instagram on Monday (Nov. 6), describing him as “a genuinely thoughtful person who cared so much about turning in the best performance, which he accomplished.”

“Some of his scenes in MSK still give me chills,” she continued.
