Allkpop reported that a short portion of Jennie’s diary is being spread on social networks. The female idol’s confession was written in May 2017, after Blackpink performed at the music festival of Sungkyul University, Korea.

Jennie revealed that she was worried that the audience wouldn’t recognize Blackpink and wouldn’t sing along to the group’s songs because they had just debuted not long ago. Specifically, Jennie expressed her feelings:

“Today’s diary.

Title: My feelings when performing at the university festival. This stage marked our first performance at university festivals. I was nervous going there, not sure if people would recognize and enjoy our music.

But I was really surprised because everyone cheered and sang along with Blackpink. I am acutely aware of having to make eye contact with the audience below during a performance. This experience aroused in me the desire to bring the group’s songs to a wide audience. Sincerely thank our fans for constantly cheering us on so we don’t get discouraged! As always, today I am immersed in the love of my fans.”

Jennie was born in Korea, studied for 5 years in Auckland, New Zealand before returning to Korea and interning at YG Entertainment.

“Starting my career in Korea as a Kpop artist limited my individuality, because I wasn’t allowed to express it as an idol. And I think, I’m very afraid to express myself,” Jennie once shared.

To become a member of Blackpink, Jennie went through 6 years of hard training. “I never really knew clearly how I went through that process. Because it’s literally years of training, not just a few hours. So, I really got caught up in the practice and activities they created.

I was a bit confused because I realized that I really liked singing, but I never really had the chance to really learn and explore it when I was a trainee because I was told that I should become a rapper. “, Jennie talked about the time she first debuted.

There was even a time when Jennie hated rap and felt exhausted because she couldn’t find her own direction.

Jennie was born in 1996 and is one of the most famous female idols in Korea. She is the global ambassador of many luxury brands, and appeared in the movie “The Idol”. The female idol debuted with Blackpink and created the most successful girl group in Korean history.
